Returning from a successful meeting, its notable that ASCP means family to so many of us. The chance to get together and reconnect, share stories and successes.  It is like our Thanksgiving. With this great American holiday upon us, we invite a dear friend of ASCP to share her story, her experience working with clients in the intellectual and developmentally disabled group homes.  People often without family. Sometimes abandoned. Nanette Wrobel is a pharmacist hero for many in this care setting and she embodies thanksgiving, even opening her Chicagoland home every year to people who can’t make it back to their homes. The sky is always falling in long term care pharmacy and sometimes the noise around certain issues can reach a fever pitch.  The "insulin cliff" is that issue for 2023.  Pharmacies will lose revenue and profit because of the $25 insulin edict.  Since we only reimburse pharmacy for products, this threatens the pharmacy bottom line significantly.
